Sony Center, Berlin, Germany

The Sony Center is a gorgeous complex found in Berlin, Germany. Designed by famed Helmut Jahn, construction started in 1995, and the center opened in 2000. The Sony-sponsored center houses the company’s headquarters in Germany. It is located in the Postdamer Platz, which is an important public square in Berlin. The area that the Sony Center stands on was the Nazi People’s Court. Many of the original buildings in the area were destroyed during World War II. The complex was constructed in a bid to revitalize the area. Sony later sold the center to a group of investors in 2008. It was later resold to South Korea’s National Pension Service in 2010. The Sony Center is home to a mix of restaurants, shops, conference centers, rented suites and condominiums, hotel rooms, offices, museums, and more. It also has a Legoland Discovery Center.
