National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) is a government-funded facility that focuses on the study of meteorology, atmospheric chemistry, climate science, and solar-terrestrial interactions. It also has a department that investigates the societal and environmental impacts of the atmospheric conditions. While it has many laboratories across the country, the main one is in Boulder, Colorado. This facility has a Visitor Center, which showcases interactive exhibits demonstrating how the Earth gets affected by the changing climate. 

Located also in the same area as NCAR is the NOAA’s Earth System Research Laboratory (ESRL), which measures atmospheric gases and conducts weather forecasts. Another science-related facility that tourists can visit is the Fiske Planetarium, where guests can learn about astrophysics and astronomy. It is equipped with a 6-projector system that can render a projection of a digital universe.
