Godofredo P. Ramos Airport – MPH Caticlan
Considered as one of the gateways to Boracay, Godofredo P. Ramos Airport is situated in the province of Aklan. The airport is locally known as Caticlan Airport and is managed by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines. Since Boracay is a popular destination among locals and international tourists, Caticlan Airport is the third-busiest airport in the region of Western Visayas. With the growing number of travelers arriving at Caticlan, Philippines, the National Economic and Development Authority approved a budget of P2.1 billion for the improvement of the airport’s facilities and services. By 2016, the first phase of the expansion project, which extends the runway to accommodate bigger aircraft was completed.
Best Time to Visit
The improvement of Caticlan Airport made it easier for larger aircraft to land. The largest aircraft to land at MPH Airport is Airbus A321. The aircraft can accommodate a bigger number of passengers traveling to the Caticlan. Upon arrival, travelers can arrange for a car or van rentals, taxi, or experience the unique local transportation called tricycles or multicabs. When in Caticlan, travelers can take the time to tour the local town or head-off to Balabag, which is located at Boracay Island via a small boat ferry.

There is no onsite hotel at Caticlan Airport. However, there are a number of hotels in Boracay where tourists would often prefer to stay, as it is the hub for local and international vacationers.
