The Lexington History Center was once situated in Fayette County Courthouse until 2012, when it was closed for renovation and moved to a new location, which is Georgetown Street. The Lexington History Center is formed by different independent history museums in downtown Lexington, Kentucky. Many tourists are attracted to visit the historic center because of the entertaining and enlightening exhibits that museum features.

The Lexington History Museum formerly housed several museums such as the Lexington Public Safety Museum and The Kentucky Renaissance Pharmacy Museum. There are many hotels and lodges near the museum that can also be easily accessed by visitors coming from Lexington's neighboring cities, such as Frankfort.
