Hamilton International Airport - HLZ
Found 14 kilometers from the southern side of Hamilton, New Zealand in the region of Waikato, the Hamilton International Airport is a public-use airport constructed on the exact site where the Royal New Zealand Air Force base once stood during World War II. However, it wasn’t until 1950 when the first commercial flight was offered at the airport. The passenger traffic in the airport blossomed immediately, and soon enough, it became the country’s eleventh-busiest airport. Hamilton Airport is referred to by its IATA code of HLZ and ICAO code of NZHN.

Hamilton International Airport is currently served by two airlines, Air New Zealand Link and Sunair. Both airlines offer different flights to various destinations within the country. There are three runways in the airport today, two of which are less than 750 meters in length. Because of the passenger demand in the late 1900s, the airstrips underwent developments and were expanded in 1970 to handle Vickers Viscount.
