Hilton Head Island Airport – HHH
Serving the area of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina is a primary commercial service airport, as per the United States Federal Aviation Administration, named after the island itself – Hilton Head Island Airport. Championship golf courses are found throughout the island. Wanting to boost tourism in regards with the sports, the airport was constructed. With the help of a professional golfer and pilot, Arnold Palmer, the HHH – Hilton Head Island Airport opened in 1967.
Best Time to Visit
The HHH-Hilton Head Island Airport is but a small airport with one concourse, four gates, and one runway. The runway underwent extension which was finished last year of 2018. Many of the flights flying in and out of the Hilton Head Island Airport are seasonal. American Airlines and United Airlines have their seasonal flights to and from Washington National and New York/Newark respectively. The only year-round flight available from this airport is serviced by Delta Airlines and is to and from Atlanta, Georgia. Visit Bloomingdale and Pooler from the HHH.

Many hotels and accommodations are adjacent to the Hilton Head Island Airport (HHH). The Hampton Inn Hilton Head is literally right next to the airport and offers a gym and outdoor pool on site. The 4-star Royal Dunes by Capital Vacations is also conveniently located next to the airport and offers swimming pool for the guests to enjoy as well. The Marriott’s Barony Beach Club is several minutes away from the airport but it is beach front and travelers may enjoy the private beach on site apart from the swimming pools.
