Arorae Island Airport – AIS Arorae

Arorae Island Airport with code AIS is located in Arorae, Kiribati. This is specifically found in the northern part of the island. Air Kiribati is the only major airline that has flights serving the island. The flight is scheduled on Thursdays only. The weekly flight is coming from an international airport found in South Tarawa. Arorae atoll is part of Gilbert Islands Group with has only a thousand inhabitants. It is divided by two villages and mainly by two religious groups. For those coming Tamana, there is a need to go first to the Tabiteuea North which is farther away from the town. One has to wait for a week in the said area before landing to Arorae.

Due to the location of the island airport, these are not hotels within the proximity. One should travel to areas like Tamana which is 60 miles away.
