Founded in 1986, Kamat Hotels India Ltd. is a renowned hospitality group that is a part of the greater Kamat Group, which has been around for more than 80 years. Kamat Hotels is known worldwide for their eco-friendly practices, notably making the five-star Orchid Hotel in Mumbai the first hotel in Asia to receive the Ecotel certification. Significant accolades include the “Green Globe Award 1998” by World Travel Mart and “International Hotel & Restaurant Association Environmental Award 2001”, among many others. Dr. Kamat also received the “IHC Lifetime Achievement” award in Hospitality in 2019.
