The Painted Bride Art Center, or commonly known as The Bride, is an artist-centered performance where all the local Philadelphian underrated artists are gathered to perform a dance, theatre and performance art, jazz, visual arts, and many others. This art center is found in the Old City, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Painted Bride has about 225 seats, which is called Gerry Givnish Theatre. Even the renowned New York Times stressed out that The Bride is a wonderful, often edgy venue that sets the trend of Old City's cultural activity. In 1984, the National Endowment for the Arts awarded the Philadelphia arts institution $100,000 to raise their funds however, by 1996, they were not granted a bigger budget for the performance.
